A group of East Finchley organisations has secured £10,000 to boost use of the High Road over the next year.
The East Finchley Town Team comprising N2United, East Finchley Community Trust, East Finchley Festival CIC, The Archer and East Finchley Open Artists, supported by East Finchley’s local councillors, secured the cash from a Barnet Council fund to support the borough’s town centres.
The team will be staging three events throughout 2022 and 2023:
- A Sustainable and biodiverse East Finchley looking at greening ideas and improving sustainability
- An Arts and music event to showcase local talent and venues and focus on how they can be used to attract more people onto the High Road
- A Food fair will promote the range of food available on the High Road, where it comes from, how we can make it more sustainable and link into food projects in the area
Events are in the initial planning stages and traders will be placed at the centre of developing ideas to ensure that they work in concert with the local community to build a thriving town centre into the future.
Traders, residents and community groups are invited to attend the project launch at the June N2United meeting:
